Welcome to the Our Southern Indiana Regional Development Authority

The State of Indiana is pleased to announce that Indiana's Opportunity Zone (OZ) 2.0 nomination process is now officially open!
This next phase of OZ designations represents an important opportunity for areas across the state to impact long-term economic growth, attract private investment, and align federal tax incentives with regional development priorities.
Opportunity Zones 2.0 builds on the original federal Opportunity Zone program established in 2017, refining eligibility rules and focusing designation on high-need census tracts with strong investment potential. Indiana may nominate 126 of the state’s 501 eligible census tracts, making stakeholder input essential.
Indiana's Opportunity Zone 2.0 nomination process is being led by the the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, the Office of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority, and Office of Community and Rural Affairs, and it is designed to build upon the planning, partnerships, and investments already taking place across Indiana, including through READI and other regional development initiatives.
To support this process, the State has launched a public nomination portal where READI regions, local governments, economic development organizations, developers, investors, and other community partners may submit recommendations. We encourage you to review the eligibility map and submission guidance available online to help prepare meaningful submissions.
Your participation is vital to ensure that Indiana’s final Opportunity Zone 2.0 slate reflects both local economic need and the strongest opportunities for long-term, investment-driven impact. We deeply appreciate your leadership in identifying where this designation can meaningfully accelerate ongoing regional strategies.
Thank you for your continued commitment to building a stronger, more vibrant Indiana.
